This site is in a medical district that has no access to public parks, but many fragmented spaces. It establishes a series of home-gardens to recharge urban wellness and Mexico City's sinking aquifer
This project connects a chain of fragmented lots to organize a series of human and biophysical recharge zones - small, medium, and large.
My partner, Oscar, and I were each given an incremental housing precedent. Oscar had analyzed Dagat-Dagatan, Caloocan in the Philippines while I analyzed Nouakchott, Mauritania in Africa. After comparing each of the precedents, Dagat-Dagatan had public resources that depended on the nearby alley. Nouakchott had very few public resources. Over time, Dagat-Dagatan changed while Nouakchott stayed the same.
Through the exploration of several strategies, the site is able to provide open space while also navigating through different levels of privacy. The users move from a combination of housing & garden densification, agriculture & recreational densification, and health & garden densification. Each sector provides a different strategy while providing the users with an area.
