The idea for this training facility started off by analyzing the site and using the ground conditions. The cracks in the ground are caused by weathering, and that led to the cracks going in different directions. After analyzing where the cracks occurred, one pattern was chosen to move forward with due to its unique shape. The weathered asphalt was used to create a building profile and a roofing system. A column system was developed to allow the roof to be changed in a dynamic way as opposed to having a flat surface. The heights of each program space varies from eight to twelve feet to show hierarchy while keeping the unique shapes.
