Continuing our prior relationship, Varenhorst assisted Covenant House Pennsylvania in expanding its outreach in the Philadelphia region with the design of its Rights of Passage facility. Located in Philadelphia’s Kensington neighborhood, the 27,000 square foot transitional living program facility for young adults now fills a block where previously rowhouses sat in disrepair. The new construction includes 10 two bedroom apartments for independent living, as well as community spaces, lounges, a fitness center, and administrative offices. Covenant House Pennsylvania, the local chapter of the international nonprofit organization, is dedicated to immediate assistance and services for homeless and runaway youth. This project is one in an ongoing series of collaborations between Varenhorst and Covenant House Pennsylvania.
