This residence is a unique, 10,000 square foot renovation and addition to the 6th floor of The Bank Building, overlooking Independence Park. Varenhorst combined original portions of the building showing historic, exposed brick with a new steel and glass addition. A central spine connects the newly constructed more public living area that looks south with the large, more private library, looking north.
Arranged along either side of the spine are the bedrooms, catering kitchen, and accessory spaces. The design is inspired by the juxtaposition of the park and the original historic elements.
