- This 120,000 square foot building is placed on roughly 20 feet of slope running from the parking lot to a small lake.
- The program contains 70% various complex laboratory and specialized spaces and 30% general classroom and student communal spaces.
- The design prioritizes its site, context and the function of the relationship with adjacent structures without compromising the experience of it's own contribution.
- The flow of pedestrian traffic through its exterior adjacencies are a seamless but sensorial transition. This is also the case for the flow of utility/service traffic. The constricting and expanding moments artfully compliment the surrounding views and functions. Natural expressions are highlighted in the framing of the design to inspire curiosity, connection and its curriculum.
- Tyler, Texas has a wonderful landscape and obscuring the boundary between interior and exterior completes the potential of this design.
- A clear distinction is made between the identity's of each façade element on approach without a break in its overall design collusion. The entrances, gathering spaces, courtyards, utility, pedestrian paths, etc. are all identifiable with unnoticed intuition.
