Problem
Client's first development.
Client wanted outdoor focused development that attracted people to the site as a community hub. Inspired by local brewery's, food truck parks, upscale food & beverage industry, and a progressive aesthetic.
Client was enthusiastic about using shipping containers, despite efforts to convey more sustainable alternatives.
Client wanted multiple structures, leased, working together on the site to share its outdoor amenity's.
Existing detention pond in between the site and the main arterial road used to access the site.
Solution
Restaurant/Brewery as the main structure to cantilever over the detention pond and attract passersby to the site and provide shade to the patio as well as a buffered view to the road.
Central outdoor element consisting of shaded charging stations and picnic tables.
Smaller structure with two units to provide small bites/sweet treats at other end of site.
Brick pavers to be placed for vehicular road where pedestrians commonly cross.
Develop presentation of design intent and present to the city for pre-development meeting for comments and feedback.
