The 1400 sqft loft had a 1 bath, 1 bedroom, poor lighting and an inefficient layout. The challenge was
in the client’s request to enlarge the bedroom and existing bathroom, add a guest bathroom and enlarge the kitchen but not on the expense of the living room.
The loft has the ‘Ernest Hemingway’ old vintage look but with a modern cozy feel. Brick was maintained throughout the loft to preserve the old NYC loft look. Structural beams were expose and wrapped with vintage wood. The floor was changed to a warm color. Bathroom and bedroom doors were designed as steel and glass doors inspired from the Bowery Hotel in NYC. The kitchen cabinet doors were from vintage wood colored grey, Tin ceiling tiles were installed as a backsplash. Above the vintage dining table a steel custom designed pendant was installed to match the doors.
