› Holešov industrial zone parcel concept was meant to facilitate exclusively production
islands, so that the industrial land usage could be maximized. However, the urban concept
suggested also a services centre including accommodation, catering, spaces for visitors and some basic civic facilities.
› The centre itself does not include any of the zones industrial production. Its reserved space should therefore take as less of the zones area as possible. Traffic and pedestrian communications are part of all urban structures and are essentially a free space. Using the available volume above the main communication led to the creations of hovering civic spaces overlooking the zone. Each cell volume represents different kind of common spaces. The body of four cells is tightly gripped together by strip arches, which emerge from pedestrian walkways,
continuing along the traffic road and penetrating the structure on different levels. These pedestrian bridges create an essential connection between the lower zone and upper services centre.
› The diagonal structured shell consisting of repeating strip components and bracing side facades. The structure is covered in textile membranes and ETFE inflatable pads, because of the material’s low weight.
