Client: New museum of Contemporary Art

The New Museum of Contemporary Art is the premier contemporary art museum in New York.  To increase their presence and impact in New York, the museum held a design competition won by Tokyo-based firm of Sejima + Nishizawa/SANAA, who designed a building that was as forward-thinking as the art it would house.  As the museum is SANAA's first project in New York, they chose to team with Gensler because of their capability to accomplish a work of the size.
