340 Madison Avenue

Client: Macklowe Properties

[2000-2006]

Originally a Art Deco style building built in 1928, 340 Madison Avenue went through complete renovation overhaul with new curtainwall facade and additional floor areas. The renovation of the Class A office 22 story building started in 2000 and completed in 2006. With complication of zoning law in Special Mid-Town Zoning District in Grand Central area, it took several years of going through New York City Board of Standards Appeals for special zoning variance of additional floor areas and the building heights which directly resulted in the granting of additional 75,000 SF of new gross floor area enlargement to the approximately 500,000 SF of existing building gross floor area.
