The case study consisted of undergoing a personification of one of the most influential architects to have lived. By delving into the past life of Charles Rennie Mackintosh a revival of the Glasgow School of Art took place.
Analysis of Texture & Color
The color collage above (Figure 1.) depicts the extensive color scheme within the choice of materials and their tones as well as the manner in which they work together to create an entire uniform design.
The Texture collage on the left (Figure 2.) emphasizes the transition and continuity between the different spaces within the Glasgow School of Architecture. The play with separate conditions such as light vs darkness, tall vs short, iron vs brick, toughness vs smoothness, color vs white; are incredibly imminent within the work of Mackintosh. The recognizable inspiration of nature transpires from his use of organic forms, decorative elements, light simulation and furniture design. His use of elongated forms are also apparent within the structure as well as within the furniture, meticulously placed in every room.
