Salt Lake City, UT
The College of Architecture + Planning at the University of Utah welcomes you to explore our unique program. Since 1951, we have been the only architecture school in the State of Utah. In 2003, we added the urban planning program and made many other enhancements. The mission of the College has remained unchanged, however. It is to bring together a community of students, faculty, and staff with a broad range of interests and expertise in creative design, building, planning, computer technology, issues of social and ecological responsibility, and the scholarly study of the history and theory of the built landscape. In this wide range of interests is a common concern for constructing and maintaining the highest quality in our built and natural environments.
The College offers outstanding education in both undergraduate and graduate degree programs in architecture and planning. Architecture and planning are professional programs leading to professional degrees, similar to law or engineering. The College houses the only NAAB-accredited professional degree in architecture in the state of Utah, a masters of architecture. We are in the process of implementing a professional masters degree in urban planning which will be accredited by PAB within five years.
