Designed for an environmentally friendly furniture show at Design Within Reach, the Eco Sconce was created as a decorative lighting element for a home or a business. The material of the shade was made from recycled High Density Polyethylene (HDPE). Several studies were done to explore the possibilities of bending and joining strips of HDPE. The Final design uses a simple technique that rolls and joins the HDPE into a shell like form. A simple aluminum sleeve attaches the shade to the wall and hides the electrical wiring.

The final design was on display at the Boulder showroom for Design Within Reach in December of 2006.
