As Project Designer for the Waldorf Astoria Chicago , I led a team of 8 – 12 architects, numerous consulting engineers, interior architects and other professionals in the planning and design of the hotel that has been awarded AAA Five Diamonds, Forbes Five Star and chosen as Travel and Leisure’s top hotel in North America the last two years in a row.

The Waldorf Astoria is a complicated project and structure that successfully embodies a rich and varied design with a detailed program and detailed operations. I personally directed and guided the building’s design - from overall planning and conceptual design to the smallest architectural details.  I was closely involved in the design of the hotel public spaces, guest rooms, back-of-house, and luxury private residences.  Working together with the hotel developers and operators, we ensured that the project achieved the highest standards, was done on time and met the budget.
