Union 525 was formerly Wood High School in the late 1800s; it's over 120,000 sf, 4 stories tall with a courtyard and 2 bell towers. We converted it to a campus for second stage tech companies, and they loved the exposed wood so much, the Owners asked us to design a heavy timber expansion for them right next door. It sits between Eli Lilly Co. and Rolls Royce on Downtown's south side. In addition to code analysis, which was considerable both for a Type IV structure and for putting Purdue Polytechnic High School in the basement, I also set up the Revit model trees in the cloud to streamline process for the Project Lead.
