New York, NY, US

Trained at the Pratt Institute School of Architecture, I have 15+ years’ experience in the field with job experience spanning the globe in Singapore, New York & Miami, Hong Kong & Atlanta.

My principal strengths are communication and coordination - getting a team do move in the same direction, getting things done / built. My secret love is detailing, which I seldom get to do anymore. My regret is the loss of hand drafting which I wish was still feasible. I am also a tech geek at heart and love tinkering w/ computers & software. I have implemented CAD Standards in many of the firms in which I worked, as well construction document conventions and delivery.

I was employed at Shulman + Assoc., Miami, for 5 years, as a Project Manager, with focus in Historic Restoration. My principal project was the Soho Beach House - an 80,000 SF, US$50M hotel that just opened in Miami Beach in 2010, on which I served as Project Manager & Team Lead, responsible for schematic design, design development, construction documents, permitting and construction administration of the project.

My principal specialties are hospitality & residential typologies. I am thoroughly conversant in all areas of the architectural process from Schematic Design through Construction Administration, and consider myself highly effective in both team lead and team member roles, having served in both positions on numerous projects. Whilst working at Kenneth Park Architects, NYC, I handled commercial retail build-outs across the continental US, inc. California, Nevada, North Carolina, New York & Florida, as a result of which I am highly conversant in Building Fire & ADA Codes, at both Federal & State levels.

My position as a Project Manager & Team Lead at ICRAVE served to further broaden my repertoire to include high end hospitality design encompassing the gamut from huate cuisine restaurant to airport terminal bars. My principal role at ICRAVE was senior PM & team lead, helming the "China Grill, Miami" renovation – a 14,500SF, US$12M high end luxury restaurant build-out in Miami Brickell. Completed under different Ownership, the renamed "Komodo" opened to great acclaim in winter of 2015.

My 3-1/2 year tenure at Stephen B. Jacobs Group as Senior Project Manager began October 2103 with my principal project a two-phase development, located in downtown Brooklyn, comprising of a primary 28-story 140K GSF residential mid-rise with a significant urban revitalization component, and a second 17-story, 48K GSF residential building on an adjacent lot, with mechanically assisted fully attended parking garage on the ground floor & cellar. Since then, I’ve taken charge of a 20-story, 86K GSF mid-rise residential rental tower in Manhattan’s Upper East Side. The "Rose Modern" on 74th St & York Ave executed the first lease agreement in March 2016, and is currently at about 95% tenancy. My current focus is a new 14-story, 88 unit, 94K GSF residential development in Manhattan’s Lower East Side, which is slated to break ground first week of February 2017.

As of February 2017, I have joined the internationally renown interior design firm of Champalimaud Design, with projects in Hong Kong, New York & Atlanta. The nature of the firm's work precludes any further elaboration.

My design guidelines are Integrity (of upholding a concept), Simplicity (of approach & expression), Honesty (of materials & structure) & Acknowledgement (of site & program). Once all these are in congruence, things tend mostly to fall into place.
