Exhibition: "NOT The Royal Academy" | Until 19 August
Each year, the RA curates their summer exhibition, a celebration of emerging artists. Of the 12000+ pieces submitted each year, only 800 are shown after a lengthy judging and curating process. Inspired by the 19th Century Parisian 'Salon des Refuses', the Llewellyn Alexander Gallery returns for another year to offer the opportunity to see and buy the alternative collection of works.
Power of Summer 2017 | Until 1 September
As part of the Nine Elms development, the iconic Battersea Power Station is being revived, and the area regenerated. As part of this, there has been a focus on creating a vibrant community in the shadows of the power station, including a summer-long programme of activities. From theatre and cinema, to fitness and workshops for all ages, organisers have worked to create something for everyone.
Summer Holidays at RIBA | 9,10,11 August
The RIBA continues to entertain and inspire the next generation with the final part of their summer school events. This week's design days include creating 1:1 structures with recycled materials and challenging the concept of boundaries.
Zaha Hadid Architects: Unbuilt | Until 18 August
Don't miss out on the opportunity to see the unbuilt work of the late Dame Zaha Hadid. The exhibition, which is coming into its final week, looks not only at the innovative and unique style of the architect herself, but the continued work undertaken by her eponymous practice in continuing her work.
Summertime at Southbank | Until 31 August
For the month of August, the Southbank is home for dance and entertainment from prestigious companies like the English National Ballet to Yoga on the roof of the striking concrete volumes which dominate the southbank.
