The proposal for a Muslim community center a few blocks from the World Trade Center has caused quite an excessive (even xenophobic) stir. But the people backing Cordoba House say they not only want to bridge the Muslim and Western worlds socially but also architecturally.
"We want it to be part of the New York skyline, part of the personality of New York City, but also expressive of our own values,” the imam behind the project says. “Muslim values have made some very important contributions to architecture.” The Architect's Newspaper
