In a rare occasion, architect, furniture designer and educator Coy Howard will be having an exhibition at Harbor College in Los Angeles to show a selection of thirty images of his three speculative architectural projects and a collection of furniture designs opening this Saturday March 27.
There will be a reception following the exhibition opening at Jay and Ellen McCafferty house which is the only remaining ground up house designed by the architect.

There will be a reception following the exhibition opening at Jay and Ellen McCafferty house which is the only remaining ground up house designed by the architect. It is one of the best known secrets of early 80’s ground breaking architecture of Southern California.
Also, watch for my up coming interview of Coy Howard on the never published before McCafferty House with the presence of his client Jay McCafferty, one of the original and legendary Cirrus Gallery artists.

Coy was always the best artist / architect in LA. More than Gehry, (does Gehry do art?). Craig Ellwood turned to painting, and so did a lot of other architects. But that was more like recreation or retirement. But Coy was always more interested in contemporary art, and worked those ideas and figures into his works. And taught architecture that way. So anything he does will be interesting to see.
