God, how sad. The spaces are gorgeous. Even beat to hell those houses are more inventive and beautiful than anything I've ever done, or most of the built environment in the world.
a real shame... i just want to hug that staircase in the cerrito house.
btw, this person's photos are amazing.. i love the small bus shelters scattered around buffalo!
the photos capture the scene very well-neglect. i remember seeing the siesta key house when i worked in florida with the realization that the structure would probably never see another resident. unfortunately, a large number of rudolph's florida houses have been disregarded and left to rot. there is a local architect, Joe King, in sarasota who has been working his ass off trying to save as many as he can. even the world famous umbrella house is still waiting for its new umbrella:

there is a big grassroots effort to save rudolph's houses in florida, but i'm not as keen on what the effort is like in the northeast. it takes a lot of money and a huge amount of labor to restore those houses, and to update them to today's energy standards costs even more. support the effort if you can.
