John Clancy, 74, the designer of Tent City, an alternative mixed-income housing project, died Friday.
"He was an extraordinary man whose strength of character, unassuming manner, profoundly generous spirit, and commitment to those who are most in need of shelter has had a lasting and significant influence on all we do as an association and as a community of architects," said Richard Fitzgerald, executive director of the Boston Society of Architects.
