i remember trying to do something with penrose tile when i discovered it in fourth year and being stumped.
the diagrams i found were really 'mathy' and i couldn't figure out a way to make it attractive.
it's pretty amazing that we have a 700 year old precedent for this.
it is also amazing that it is at once so transcendent and also so culturally specific.
