conspiracy theories anyone?!
oh my. This is what, the 3rd one in the past 2 months? What in the world would an arsonist have against Louis Sullivan? Perhaps he's a disenfranchised arch. history student?
here is an article in chicago reader from last july about the plans to demo the house, "Will the city let yet another Adler and Sullivan building go down?". a recent picture of the house and sullivan adler elevation drawing is included.
wait, the new owner wanted to demolish the house which is on prime developable real estate but there was some question about whether they'd be allowed to tear it down?
accidental for sure...
I find this news depressing, even when I remind myself that this is hardly the worst thing that's happened in the world today.
Are all developers crooks, or just the most successful ones?
