We're really excited to announce the launch of the official Archinect iPhone app!
The iPhone is by far the most popular mobile device that Archinect readers own, according to our web analytics, so we developed this app for you iPhone (and iPod/iPad!) users as a simple, mobile version of Archinect. The app is not designed to offer the full functionality that that the website does. Rather, it provides an easy-to-read interface to follow and share the latest jobs and featured stories from across the site... including, but not limited to, news, features, projects, events, blogs, & discussions.

The app also features push-notifications to get instantly alerted when breaking news happens in the architecture industry, or when a big announcement is made on Archinect.

Click here to download the app now. If you like it, we'd love for you to rate it!
For those of you who have Android, Windows, and other mobile devices, you'll be happy to know that we're currently working on a mobile version of Archinect to provide a better experience using Archinect on the go.

Android version should have come out first...boo.
Android user here, looking forward to it.
installed!
Got mine! One question I do have Paul, is whether or not (or maybe you know a #?) most of those visits via iPhone per web analytics aren't just visitors who also visit via Safari or whatever browser their personal or office computer runs anyways. In other words is mobile use/impressions duplicative or net new? For instance, I have a Ipad but that won't be my main form of interaction, with Archinect. Unless my usage changes now with the app....
Nam, for me it's duplicative. But where I see a potential benefit for my usage is with the forum and comments sections. Right now I have it set to email me updates when a new comment is made and I regularly receive those emails and check them from my iPhone. However, the site is pretty difficult to use from the mobile version of safari. I'd say that with commenting enabled and real-time updates of the forums I'd use my iPhone more than my desktop to access Archinect (either m.archinect.com or the app). Eventually I'd love to see comment previews in the notification center, but I know that these things can take some time.
Nam - the stats referenced here are specific only to mobile devices and mobile os's. Desktop Safari is recognized differently from mobile Safari.
Brian - we recently made an update to the site that lets the navigation bar scroll with the site, so the previous problem of the navigation area overlapping the content, which made using/reading Archinect on iOS devices really difficult before, has since been fixed. That said, m.archinect.com is going to be much more user friendly. The discussion forum is going to be the first section released for m.archinect.com.
Paul, assumed the stats were recognized differently, i was more curious in terms of what Brian answered re: duplicative eyeballs vs net new. PErsonally, I fall into the same camp as Brian.
No, the mobile stats we refer to only consider mobile users/visits. For example, all the mobile devices listed in our stats add up to 100%; and all mobile OS's add up to 100%. There's no crossover in this specific stats set with desktop users/visits.
Fabulous.
cool, great news..
I love it--so readable. I can archinect on my way to the cafeteria.
