I firmly believe that proper design has the ability to affect people's attitudes and behaviors to create a culture of sustainability, and therefore have a much greater impact on the environment, the economy, and society than simply stopping at green architecture.

Other duties and tasks include: responding to RFIs, reviewing product submittals, maintaining project documents, materials research and specification, code research and interpretation, organizing and maintaining materials and project archives.

Prepared construction documents for tenant improvements that adhered to corporate standards for a national chain of health clubs. Worked with local building departments to coordinate codes and regulations for projects in various states.

Independent Design & Construction (Self Employed), Designer, Builder

Miscellaneous construction and carpentry tasks. Primary project focused on designing and remodeling a century-old carriage house into a music studio for practice and recording. I completed this project with a partner but my duties consisted of:

- Developing the design for the remodel,
- Documentation for permits,
- Cost & materials estimation,
- Maintaining project budget,
- Plus the various construction tasks.

University of Idaho, Projects Coordinator, UI Sustainability Center

Primarily tasked with coordination of student grant program. This involved holding initial informational and grant-writing workshops, sending out a Request for Proposals (RFP), coordinating evaluation of proposals in committee, awarding up to $15,000 in grant money to recipients, meeting regularly with grant recipients to aid with project administration throughout academic year. I maintained budget of award money, coordinated and aided in public outreach and information on projects, as well as aided other staff members of the UI Sustainability Center.
