A letter from the Louvre Museum director Laurence des Cars to the French Cultural Ministry has revealed several glaring maintenance issues leading to a "physical ordeal" for staff and visitors.
According to the letter, which was first published in Le Parisien, states: "Visitors have no space to take a break. The food and toilet facilities are insufficient, well below international standards. The signage needs to be completely redesigned." Des Cars also described a greenhouse effect inside I.M. Pei’s iconic 36-year-old Pyramid addition.
Other sections of the museum are apparently experiencing hazardous temperature variations and appear to be no longer watertight, according to the document. The Louvre is regarded as being plagued by overtourism and has reportedly considered adding a new entrance to alleviate the issue for number of years. (h/t Le Monde)

Over-tourism, indeed. See also: garbage all over the slopes of Mt. Everest.
We humans need to chill and stay in place a bit more, IMO.
