Leonardo da Vinci’s famous painting has been moved to a new room in the Louvre while its usual home is renovated. That’s causing some commotion for visitors. — The New York Times
This year, as the Salle des États, where the Mona Lisa painting has hung since 2005, is being renovated, a debate over how to address the growing number of tourists visiting the famous painting has come to a fore in Paris.
The exhibition hall, according to The New York Times, is being renovated in advance of a new exhibition celebrating the 500th anniversary of Da Vinci’s death that is set to debut in October.

The Mona Lisa is overrated.
If you're in the Louvre, go outside the gallery where the ML is (usually) located and enjoy the Death of the Virgin by Caravaggio. No one will disturb you. It was the treasure of Kings and Emperors, and you can have it all to yourself for as long as you want.
But be warned, people with cameras and fanny packs will stare quizzically, and look at you funny.
