The Harvard Graduate School of Design has listed its slate of Spring ‘24 public lecturers as part of our Get Lectured roundup for the new academic term.
The events program begins on February 8 with a lecture from the new Global War on Terror Memorial designer Marlon Blackwell, whose appearance precedes another from author Christiana Sharpe on February 13. The month continues with the Senior Loeb Scholar Lecture from Malkit Shoshan on February 27 and ends when University of Virginia faculty member Elizabeth K. Meyer delivers the Daniel Urban Kiley Lecture on February 29.
The 2020 Wheelwright Prize winner Daniel Fernández Pascual will deliver his Wheelwright Prize Lecture on March 5, followed by the International Womxn's Day Keynote Address from Jack Halberstam on March 7. Author Debra Spark speaks also on March 7. Her examination of the creative dynamics between Richard Neutra and Rudolph Schindler will precede another lecture from Shoshan on the position of women in design on March 8. Petra Blaisse will then deliver the Margaret McCurry Lectureship in the Design Arts on March 19, followed by Margot Kushel’s John T. Dunlop Lecture on March 21.
Kushel precedes lectures from Lauret Savoy and Pedro Gadanho on March 26 and March 27, respectively. UCL Bartlett School professor Mario Carpo’s delivery of the John Hejduk Soundings Lecture follows them on March 28 before the month ends with a lecture from Joel Sanders on inclusive design on March 29.
April begins with a presentation from Cobe’s Dan Stubbergaard on April 8, followed by the Rouse Visiting Artist Lecture from Timothy Archambault on April 11. Finally, the semester ends with Garnette Cadogan’s lecture “‘The Ground is All Memoranda’ Walking as Register, Responsibility, and Reenchantment” on April 16.
