Studio Gang has been selected to design the campus of the Women’s Leadership Center at Williams Bay in Wisconsin. 

The Center will rise atop a nine-acre site along Geneva Lake. It will serve as a space to gather women leaders across various industries, including engineering and technology, infrastructure and design, space and astrophysics, public and private enterprise, and more, to foster discourse and collaboration. The campus will be positioned near George Williams College of Aurora University and the Yerkes Observatory. 

“The Women’s Leadership Center will be dedicated to developing, sustaining, and advancing diverse women leaders in a new site that connects to the storied cultural and natural landscape of Williams Bay,” said Ann M. Drake, Chair and President of the Women’s Leadership Center at Williams Bay. “Jeanne’s sensibility for sustainable design that’s both innovative and inspiring is extraordinary. Her team is developing concepts that mesh perfectly with the history and feel of this special piece of land.”

This news comes as Studio Gang founder Jeanne Gang was announced last week as the winner of the 2022 ULI Prize for Visionaries in Urban Development. As detailed in the press release, Studio Gang’s approach for this project will be informed by the unique ecology and history of the area.

“We are excited to explore ways to realize Ann’s ambitions through architecture that fosters creativity and collaboration and embraces the natural beauty and ecology of Geneva Lake,” said Gang.

In addition to the Center, other upcoming projects by Studio Gang include an expansion of the American Museum of Natural History in New York, a new United States Embassy in Brazil, and the Global Terminal at O’Hare International Airport, to name a few. 

Construction of the Women’s Leadership Center at Williams Bay is expected to be completed in late 2024.
