As we enter the month of September, architecture schools continue to unveil their Fall 2022 lecture series and public events. Continuing with Archinect's Get Lectured Series, we highlight the University of Texas at Austin's Fall lecture lineup.
Mauricio Rocha of Taller de Arquitectura will be kicking off the school's lecture events, where they will present their lecture "Process" on September 7. Murray Legge of Murray Legge Architecture will present his lecture "Project Roundup" on September 14, followed by designer, educator, director, and BAFTA-nominated producer Liam Young who will present "Planet City: An Imaginary City for 10 Billion People" on September 21.
On October 3, architects and educators J. Meejin Yoon and Eric Höweler of Höweler + Yoon will present their lecture "Verify in Field." Thomas Kelly and Carrie Norman of Norman Kelley will present their lecture "The Little Things" on October 17. Designer and academic scholar Rosetta S. Elkin will present her lecture "Plant Life: The Entangled Politics of Afforestation, and What it Means for Landscape Architects" on October 26, followed by a lecture from professor Beate Hølmebakk of the Institute of Architecture at the Oslo School of Architecture and Design (AHO) who will present her lecture "Constructions on Sites and Paper" on November 9.
UT Austin also shares that in conjunction with the school's lecture series are two exhibitions, "2123 EISDF" from August 29 – September 30, curated by the school's 2021–23 Emerging Scholar in Design Tekena Koko, and "Twilight Requiem" from October 11 – November 18, curated by Stephanie Choi the school’s 2020–22 Emerging Scholar.
