The school shares "in response to the global pandemic and the renewed fights to end racism and structural inequality, the 2020-21 lecture series committee and UNM's SA+P has opted for a 'conversation' series rather than a 'lecture' series. Now is the time for critical dialogue, difficult discussions, and debate." The school will have three virtual events revolving around the topics of Monuments, Climate, and Design.
During the months of October and November the school starts their "Faculty and Student Dialogues" series. On Oct 14th Aaron Cayer and Katya Crawford will lead a dialogue discussing "Reading bell hooks: Teaching to Transgress." Jimenez Lai will discuss "The Sun Sets in Los Angeles" on October 21st. A round table discussion with Ane Gonzalez Lara, Ted Jojola, Saray Argumendo, Kathy Kambic, Aaron Cayer, and Kerri Arsenault will take place on Oct 28th where the UNM SA+P Faculty reports for the Architectural League of New York. To close the Faculty and Student Dialogues will be Jennifer Tucker discussing "Policing the City: A Debate."
All events are free, virtual, and open to the public. Registration is required for each event.
