This Hyde + Hyde-designed home takes inspiration from its residents' Japanese culture. Called Utsuroi House, the dwelling captures an appreciation for timeless architecture through balance and geometric symmetry. 'Utsuroi' is a Japanese spatial concept meaning "a gradual and inevitable change from one state to another." This work of architecture seeks to introduce a "conscious and orchestrates spatial sequence" that guides its inhabitants fluidly through the home.
Sitting atop a high hill on the outskirts of the city of Bath, England, panoramic views of the cascading hills of the country surround the dwelling. With efficiency and low environmental impact in mine, the home will be constructed from prefabricated timber.
