Elon Musk has filed permits with the city of Los Angeles to launch his Boring Company offshoot, The Brick Store LLC, which would produce interlocking bricks made from dirt collected by his tunnel-digging company's operations.
As the Boring Company's LA test tunnel nears completion—an opening date has been set for this coming December 10th—the company has selected a building near the exit tunnel to locate the physical outlet for his brick making startup. Plans filed with the city of Hawthorne show the Brick Store's first brick-and-mortar will take over a humble, one story stucco building and give the former cabinet shop a fresh coat of paint.
“The proposed colors are white, gray, and black" the planning documents read. "The proposed colors avoid monotony throughout the project site and blend well together. The color scheme does not create an incompatible look to the surrounding neighborhood."
The idea for the Brick Store was originally announced back in May, with Musk promising the bricks would be lightweight, strong enough to withstand California's earthquakes, and available at low cost so that they could be used for affordable housing projects. Reusing the natural waste of digging tunnels, also helps bring down the costs of excavation.
Beyond the nearly finished test tunnel in Hawthorne, Musk has also proposed the Dugout Loop, which would transport baseball fans and concertgoers directly to the Dodger Stadium from a number of offsite locations. Musk is also aiming to begin digging one between Los Angeles and San Francisco next year.

Great-
A premium concrete masonry unit. So premium, it is only available at one location.
UNTIL that one location is rezoned and renovated to become a private subway...
Honey, I'm going down to the store to get some bricks. Do you need anything?
