In meetings with landowners and real-estate agents, Musk has reportedly described his idea for the estate — which he envisions building on thousands of acres of property he purchased on the Colorado River — as a utopia, so that his employees can live, work, and play without ever leaving. — New York Magazine
The community, named “Snailbrook” after the Boring Company mascot, would be the first new town in Texas since Ellinger was incorporated in 2020. Pre-fab homes are the most likely housing option, with rents as low as $800 and a Montessori school campus to serve employees' children, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Musk, who owns some 3,500 acres in Bastrop County, reportedly gave disgraced antisemite Kanye West and his new architect beau a tour of the site last year as part of a ramp-up that included internal employee discussions as to who among them should be elected mayor. The entrepreneur had previously mentioned his desire to build a “starbase city” in the area.
If it ever gets up and running, it would join the new BIG-planned Telosa in an alarming trend of new billionaire-funded Utopian cities in the American west.
This is just the beginning. America's new oligarchs are focussing on "cities." And are actively seeking to create alternatives to cities which they provide services to less advantaged populations, and set in motion a proverbial "race to the bottom."https://t.co/PLtyxlzlFn

It's been tried before. I'm sure this one will fail just as horribly as all the others.
anytime I hear “live, work, play” I vomit in my mouth.
I’m a fan of what musk has done with Tesla and space x and Twitter, but this is a terrible idea. “Utopian” centrally planned, tabula rasa development is litterally the opposite of what we should do.
So you're for Godhead, and against the peeple.
It seems we've arrived at the same conclusion by different paths but it's nice to agree once in a while.
Elon Musk (BUST), a tech giant in our time, A man with dreams that seem to climb, He plays with rockets, with passion and grace, And shoots them up into outer space.
But beneath the shine of his success, Lies a past that he tries to suppress, A childhood filled with pain and strife, With a mother who struggled in her life.
Despite his success, he still feels the sting, Of a mother who left him feeling like nothing, And so he strives for greatness each day, To prove that he's worth something in every way.
And now he dreams of a Disney-like land, A place where rocket employees can stand, In Austin, Texas, where they can play, And build the future in their own way.
Elon Musk (BUST), a man with a vision, A future filled with technological precision, May his dreams become a reality, And may his pain turn into tranquility.
$100 this idea never even breaks ground.
Snailbrook?
Elon Musk building a utopian town...what could go wrong?
Why doesn't Musk call this what it is— a company town?
Above, Kempton, West Virginia.
