Regarding the Hip Hop theses at Cornell: Students tried to run with that through the mid-aughts (and perhaps beyond). I heard about many a project that was dismissed by the old guard simply because it wasn't content or an experience they were familiar with. It was nice to hear from one of the early voices.
Marc, I thought this one was a lot of fun. What'd you think?
Thought it was really good and very interesting. There are some nerdier points about hip-hop, urbanism, and the western canon, but this covered the important bits. Sad I'll likely miss the show.
