On this week's show we talk to Kogonada, the writer and director of the critically-acclaimed film Columbus, and Kyle Bergman, founder of the Architecture & Design Film Festival.
Our conversation with Kogonada touches on his inspirations and video-essay work prior to this spectacular debut feature-length film (currently 98% on Rotten Tomatoes!), his experience growing up in a midwest immigrant household and his passion for bringing architecture to film.
Kyle Bergman, who is also a practicing architect, shares his backstory behind the Architecture & Design Film Festival, and tells us about some of the very exciting new films that will be screening at the upcoming festivals in Whitefish, Montana in September and NYC in November.

You guys, this movie is sooooooooooo good! Go see it on the big screen, you will appreciate every little detail he pays attention to in every shot!
Quit making me jealous Donna! Going to listen today (so I don't ask the same questions you did next week)
now I have to see this movie! The idea that architecture matters directly in life is something filmmakers seem to understand more that media and arch critics (Ironic that he got the idea from the NYTimes before the current anti-architecture big urbanism regime)
Super special shoutout to Kogonada too for his appreciation of the work it takes to do things like podcasts and movies: when we spoke with him he was driving, but he pulled over to make sure he didn't lose connection. So he delayed his very full schedule by an hour AND spent an hour sitting in a car at a rest stop on the phone with us. He's a true dude!
where can we buy a dvd/blueray to watch this please?
