It's the start of another week in Los Angeles. This week in L.A., don't miss the opening reception of “Empire of Space”, featuring the work of JSI Photography Excellence Award recipient Todd Eberle. Or catch a free lecture by emerging practice West of West at Helms Bakery District. The Neutra VDL House will host an immersive performance art showcase, and SCI-Arc is currently exhibiting a series of remnants salvaged from 20th-century canonic buildings in “The Duck and The Document”.

Julius Shulman Institute presents Todd Eberle: Empire of Space | Opening on May 4

“Woodbury University’s Julius Shulman Institute will honor photographer Todd Eberle with the prestigious JSI Excellence in Photography Award for 2017. In addition to the award, an exhibit of Mr. Eberle’s work, Todd Eberle: Empire of Space, curated by Audrey Landreth, will be at Woodbury University’s Hollywood Outpost (WUHO) from May 4 – June 25th.”

Cal Poly LA Metro Lecture: West of West | May 4

“Helms Bakery District will present a reception, lecture, and discussion with Jai Kumaran and Clayton Taylor of West of West, in collaboration with the Cal Poly LA Metro Program in Architecture and Urban Design.”

If there are any tickets left, “ENTER>text and homeLA in collaboration with the Neutra Studio and Residences (VDL Research House) are presenting an immersive performance event on Saturday, May 6th. Dance, literary, performance, installation and sound artists are currently developing new works in response to this distinctive architecture and National Historic Landmark.”
