Seattle Art Museum hasn't exactly been forthcoming with details about its plans to build an extension on the Seattle Asian Art Museum into Volunteer Park—and some of the neighbors are already unhappy. [...]
"They're just grabbing public land and trying to keep it under wraps," said Cassandra Trimble, a neighbor who is starting a petition against the glassed-in structure planned for the east side of the building, designed by LMN Architects.

Working on public projects, this type of push back always happens. The claim of no public input/warning/what have you, has just become a political device. A couple people who feel the need to hold power over something eventually turn up and cry foul. Just looking at the location, and the NE facade of the museum and I'm having trouble seeing what real problems there could be. The architecture could be better, integrate some art-deco details in there and maybe people would change their minds, otherwise it sounds like LMN & co are just dealing with some squeaky wheels.
