If you're a fan of desert modernism – that unique Southern Californian vernacular – then you're sure to enjoy this screening of "Desert Maverick: The Singular Architecture of William F. Cody." Cody's work is known, in particular, for the skillful connections forged between interior and exterior. Appropriately, the film screening will be held outdoors in the parking lot of the A+D Museum.

Ceramic experimentations comes together in a collective rhythm in this special solo-show of Japanese-born and Los Angeles-based artist, Shio Kusaka. Take your time and get to know the work as it snakes through all three of the main-floor galleries.
CARtoons: Art of America’s Car Culture | Open now until January 2, 2017, recommended by Justine Testado

The masters of automotive cartooning are back in the spotlight in CARtoons, a new exhibition dedicated to the popular made-in-LA publication that ran from 1959-1991, and was deemed as “the only humor magazine in the world for the lovers and owners of cars”. Opening at LACMA this past weekend, the exhibition showcases original art by several of CARtoons' regular contributors.
