So a lot of us own or lease cars...But when the talk turns to autonomous cars – and it always does – I sigh. Our overcrowded highways really could use a break from human stupidity, and that human factor is behind nearly all of the fatalities and injuries and property damage we see strewn across our roads every day. Get rid of the human behaviour to save the human body! This is where autonomous cars make sense; but not all the world is a crowded, urban highway. — driving.ca

Her issue seems to lie with the misconception that autonomous vehicles would somehow be mandatory. Is anyone actually saying this?
My hope is that, once these things are widespread, the bar to obtaining a driving license will be much higher, and people who choose to drive manually will be held far more accountable for poor driving.
Leave it to Google to deliver ugly si-if concepts that nobody wants. Remember Google Glass? Or Nest? Google engineers have the Sidam touch.
Why do you think Google is investing so much in journalism... Buying breathless coverage. They want to make it *seem* inevitable when we have to decide whether we want it or not. If it's gonna be tiny pod ad orgy, I don't want any part of it.
I am worried about pea brain road warriors who will be agressive to these vehicles. There will be more of those fatal road rages. Ignorant people don't like intelligent things.
