Workers, architects and engineers gathered Tuesday afternoon to celebrate a milestone in the construction of Los Angeles’ most notable skyscraper at the corner of Figueroa Street and Wilshire Boulevard. The ceremony, known as the topping out, marks completion of the building’s central core: a pillar of concrete that rises more than 892 feet from the foundation.[...]
Upon completion, the Wilshire Grand will rise 1,100 feet and be the tallest building west of Chicago.

Tallest on paper maybe... but it doesn't appear that it will over take the US Bank tower in the skyline. Any of you Angelenos have a skyline pic with both towers???
Woah woah woah....hold up a minute here.
Topping out is when the last piece of *steel* is erected, not the last piece of the concrete core. OMG have we lost all sense of our history?!?
(I say this having moments ago posted about my disdain for people who cling to the past over on the Matrera Castle thread. I know.)
".....A.C. Martin, the architectural firm that designed the Wilshire Grand, which is owned by Korean Airlines."
What?
Still not convinced... someone in LA go take a picture.
