Masters in Advanced Architecture or Digital Architecture and Construction ?

vish02

Confused....Can anyone tell the difference between masters in advanced architecture vs masters in digital architecture and construction for choosing a masters program.

only accredited programs are important.

A few questions for the OP:

  1. Where are you going to practice?
  2. Are either of the programs accredited?
  3. What are the costs of each program?

I'd suggest you go with a program that is accredited and cost the least.

Every school's curriculum is different.  But in general:

Go for M-Advanced architecture, if you are design oriented, interested in using technology to advance architectural design.  Like if you are attracted by Houdini-for-Architecture, or if you thinking algorithm driven design is awesome.  Note that you likely need to be equal part nerd and artist to succeed in this arena.

If you go for the second one, it will lead you (most likely) away from design.  Expect to be a clash-detection expert for a construction company (the highest paid career on this path).  You'll get to tell architects, engineers and subcontractors where they modeled wrong (ego boost), but I imagine it'll get boring fast if you have deep need for creativity.

one is designing innovative projects, the other is breaking down the construction assemblies and tectonics.
