Romance is in the air at Times Square. If you were to walk through there right now, you'll find the "Heart of Hearts", a ring of mirrored golden hearts in the middle of all the hustle and bustle. Designed by Collective-LOK, the installation was the 2016 winner of the Times Square Valentine Heart Design competition. — Bustler

This is so cute. The aerial photo on the Bustler link is lovely.
What is it made of, does anyone know? It looks like it could be mirrored mylar but since it was fabricated by Kammetal I'm guessing it's something like mirrored stainless. But they're all freestanding, right? I'm in awe of how deep the anchors must go to prevent drunk people pushing them over!
Or are they linked at the widest part of the curve for lateral stability? I can't quite tell...
The hearts are a sandwich of aluminum and Plaskolite gold mirror acrylic panels. And they're not attached to the ground at all—the hearts are all connected at their widest points to form a continuous ring, which braces the structure for wind and lateral loads.
