The management at the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum has defended the installation of sprinkler showers at its entrance, after a visitor complained that the new facilities were a painful reminder of the gas chambers used to murder prisoners. — The Independent
Is Auschwitz now a theme park?

Is there a gift shop where I can buy a "I survived Auschwitz" t-shirt?
A mister is now considered a full blown shower? I guess if these misters were actually installed IN the gas chambers it would be in bad taste, but at the gate? C'mon why is this even a story?
Bolka said the member of staff he spoke to apologised for upsetting him.
“They said they were sorry if I was offended, and I told them that there is no way to apologise to the victims of the Holocaust,” he said.
All right, move on then...
if the world only treated all victims of dictatorships the same.....
I call this, Mission Accomplished. If that's what it takes, for the power of place, to register with some, then so be it. Perhaps this mister is for the clowns taking selfies.
Here they are:
I need to point out that misters are a terrible, wasteful way to cool people! In this location shade would much more effective.
They should make the experience more thrilling, like a Disney theme park ride. Maybe cram the visitors into a large chamber, with a heavy door slammed and tightly sealed behind them. Then make them wait 2-3 minutes with a German language tape repeating instructions to stay calm before some mechanical noises lead to loud hissing and finally the cooling relief of a mist shower.
^that's a "cool" idea. funny, but cool.
