It's a special building because it lives, grows, breathes and changes over time. Its terraces are dotted with 150 tall trees which together with 50 plants in the court produce about 150,000 liters per hour of oxygen, at night absorbing about 200,000 liters of carbon dioxide per hour. Also slashing particulate matter caused by cars, protecting from noise, following the natural cycle of the seasons, growing day by day, creating an ideal microclimate. — Divisare

One of the coolest projects I've seen, ever. Reminds me of the lost boys set from the movie "Hook" for some reason...
Funny how a project like this gets ignored here. This is an incredibly practical, responsible and forward looking piece of work. I'll bet it is a joy to live in.
And look, it's even got a little PoMo / Decon styling!
This project get's ignored because it sucks, and the only people that will live there, are 1%ers with money to blow, and consciences to sooth.
there would be increased humidity or transpiration from the plants next to the wood and steel. that seems like it could have negative consequences. also bugs.
i'm not sure what makes this so expensive beta, other than it being in turin. the idea of putting lots of plants around a building could be explored on buildings with a reasonable cost couldn't it?
curtkram, all steel, maintenance, plant maintenance....plus, you know this place wasn't designed for real people.
Rental apartments. Corten steel. All buildings need maintenance. Compared to typical urban development this is a breath of fresh air. b3ta hates it simply because I posted it. LOL
