The international headquarters for this leading product design firm is located in 25,000 square feet on the top floor of the land marked Starret-Lehigh building.   The studio is a colorful, open work-space that both references the industrial aesthetic of the site and introduces whimsical element to form the core of the operaton.  Utilizing common materials in unusual ways, the simplicity of the design is punctuated by key details and freestanding structures that house conference rooms, test kitchen, staff lounge, workshop, photo studio and library.  The open studio is designed to support Smart Design's collaborative process that combines private and shared activities in a vibrant, active environment.
