Recipient of a Lucy Moses Preservation Award from the New York Landmarks Conservancy, the Longacre Theater renovation restored this 1913 built French neo-classical style to its original splendor. Featuring 1,100 seats, this 2 year project fully restored all of the theater's public facilities while fully modernizing its technical infrastructure.
The renovation included adding reception rooms and expansion of the lounge areas, and the introduction of new office space, dressing rooms and a stage entrance back-of-house.
Throughout the entire theater, plaster fascias and detailing - including gold-leaf finishing - were carefully reconstructed. The theater's seats were replaces with period accurate yet contemporary comfortable versions. Mezzanine level sight-lines were improved. Historically inspired carpets and wall-coverings completed the interior design program.
