LYON/SZOT Architecture D.P.C. is an architecture office in Brooklyn, New York. Our best work operates across different scales and programs, responding to challenging contexts by embracing complexity and diversity. We see our ability to collaborate as key to realizing the designs we create. We are united by three principles:

  1. Rigorous research uncovers hidden opportunities in each project.
  2. Material craftsmanship and building science are essential to a project’s longevity and cultural relevance.
  3. Exceptional aesthetics lie in material and fiscal economy.

We are seeking talented intermediate level architects and designers to join our team. Staff designers work with the firm principals to develop projects from concept to realization, generating progress studies, bid and filing drawings, and design material for client presentations. Project staff engage the entire range of the office’s creative workflow through sketching, parametric design, digital modeling, rendering, drafting, physical model making, and prototyping.

The ideal candidate is one with strong design skills and a point of view that complements the practice: one that is curious, detail-oriented, hardworking, and eager to get their hands dirty. The position offers numerous opportunities to contribute meaningfully to the work of the office.

  • Demonstrated ability with producing a coordinated drawing set and coordinating multiple consultants.

  • Strong conceptual, design and graphic skills illustrated in a comprehensive portfolio.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional degree in architecture from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 4-5 years of post-graduate experience working in architecture.
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Ability to meet aggressive deadlines while maintaining high-quality work.
  • Knowledge of standard best practices related to coordination, workflow, project approvals, construction detailing, materials, methods, and codes.
  • Demonstrated commitment to making, whether through analog or digital means, including CNC milling, Robotics, 3D printing, or others
  • Pre-established authorization to work in the U.S.

This is a full-time position with competitive compensation commensurate with a candidate’s experience and qualifications. LSA offers benefits and a collaborative, exciting environment.
