DESCRIPTION

Margaret Sullivan Studio (MSS) is seeking a diligent, passionate Junior Designer with education and experience in architecture, interior design, urban planning, service design or community engagement to join our dynamic studio. The ideal candidate has an entrepreneurial spirit and is a critical thinker with a user-centered, human-centered approach who focuses their work through the lenses of community, placemaking, social justice, and design thinking.

QUALIFICATIONS

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture, interior design, urban planning, or service design
• A minimum of 2-4 years of professional experience, including documentation and familiarity with all phases of the design process
• Proficient in CAD, Revit, Sketch-Up, Microsoft Office, Google Suites, and Adobe Creative Suites with a talent for distilling and communicating complex ideas in a clear and powerful manner
• Strong skills in critical thinking, design thinking, and user-centered approach to design
• Strong graphic design and writing skills
• Excellent “people skills.” You will be co-facilitating a series of staff and community engagement workshops in the Studio’s upcoming master facility planning work among other client-facing tasks.

Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required. We currently have clients across the United States including Washington, Delaware, California, Utah, and Wisconsin and travel may be required for client and community meetings (pending National COVID-19 safety guidelines).
