Overview:

Float is a multidisciplinary full-service studio that creates spaces, products, and interior identities for workplaces, commercial spaces, hospitality and retail. Vastly experienced, highly collaborative, and open-minded, they build relationships to their clients through in-depth discovery and considered design direction.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with senior interior designer on all phases of design. 

  • Provide both ad-hoc and project specific support to the interior design team. 

  • Set up files and organization for new projects

  • Provide material and product research, sourcing and vendor coordination
  • Conduct site surveys and draft existing conditions in Revit.
  • Research and source finishes, fixtures and materials, generating fixture and finish schedules and placeholder budgets based on existing templates

  • Upkeep material and resource library (digital & physical)

  • Gain familiarity with the firm's brand guidelines, resources, and standards

  • Develop documents and design presentations for internal and client reviews (i.e. FF&E presentation, development of interior elevations, floor plans, furniture plans, concept documents)

  • Assist in design development process including plans, elevations, and custom furniture items

  • Use Revit and related software to produce construction documents

  • Develop and review detail drawings for construction plans

  • Coordinate with contractors, architects, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure project success

  • Manage individual deliverables and workflow within larger project schedules and communicate any conflicts to the design team

Qualifications:

  • BA Interior Design or related field

  • 1-4 years relevant experience

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Revit, and Bluebeam

  • Experience with AI software (i.e. midjourney) a plus but not required

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Knowledge of standard office software (i.e. Google Suite, Slack, Zoom)

  • Legal authorization to work in the US

Salary range commensurate with experience and education.
